THE OCEAN

About

The Ocean (also known as The Ocean Collective) is a German post-metal band founded in Berlin in 2001 by guitarist and composer Robin Staps. The group built its reputation on ambitious concept albums tied to geological and philosophical themes - from the deep-sea-inspired *Pelagial* (2013) to the two-part *Phanerozoic* series (2018/2020) and *Holocene* (2023). After a major lineup overhaul in 2024-2025, the band returned in 2026 with four new members and a new album, *Solaris*, due September 2026.
