About

Thin Lizzy are an Irish hard rock band formed in Dublin in 1969, built around bassist, vocalist and principal songwriter Phil Lynott and drummer Brian Downey. The band's signature twin lead guitar sound - pioneered from 1974 with Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson - became hugely influential on heavy metal acts from Iron Maiden to Metallica. After Lynott's death in January 1986, surviving members have continued to tour under the name, keeping a catalogue of twelve studio albums alive for new generations.
