Jason Michael Bosak Diakité (born 11 January 1975 in Lund), performing as Timbuktu, is one of Sweden's most respected hip-hop artists - active since the mid-1990s and now with ten solo albums to his name. He draws on folk, blues, West African rhythms and reggae, rapping mostly in Swedish with a distinct Skåne accent. His accolades include eight Swedish Grammy awards and four P3 Guld prizes, and the bulk of his singles have gone Gold or Platinum.
Timbuktu announced his largest-ever concert at Malmö Arena on 21 November 2026, billed as the first 'Timbuktudagen' celebration.
A limited gatefold double-LP of 'Alla vill till himmelen men ingen vill dö' was released to mark the album's 20th anniversary, later followed by a digital release.
Timbuktu released his tenth studio album 'har berg har vatten (一零一)', recorded largely in Hong Kong, on 9 May 2025.
Shortly after the album's release, Timbuktu announced a second part of 'har berg har vatten', describing the project as his best work to date.
Timbuktu performed 'Alla vill till himmelen men ingen vill dö' in full for the first time at sold-out shows at Mosebacke in Stockholm.
