Timothée Chalamet is a French-American actor born in New York in 1995, raised between the US and France. He broke through with Luca Guadagnino's Call Me by Your Name (2017), earning an Oscar nomination at 22, and has since built one of the most ambitious careers of his generation through films like Dune and Wonka. For Josh Safdie's Marty Supreme (2025) he plays a scrappy ping-pong hustler in 1950s New York, a role that won him the Golden Globe and earned his third Academy Award nomination - making him the youngest male actor to reach that milestone since Marlon Brando.
Chalamet attended the 98th Academy Awards nominated for Best Actor for Marty Supreme but lost to Michael B. Jordan (Sinners); the film received nine nominations in total and went home without a win.
Chalamet won the Golden Globe for Best Actor for Marty Supreme and received his third Oscar nomination, becoming the youngest male actor with three acting nods since Marlon Brando.
Marty Supreme, directed by Josh Safdie and released by A24 on Christmas Day 2025, received wide critical acclaim; Roger Ebert's site called it 'the best performance of Timothee Chalamet's career.'
Chalamet appeared in the official music video for EsDeeKid's '4 Raws Remix,' addressing viral online rumors that he was secretly the anonymous Liverpool-based rapper.
Chalamet served as both host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live (Jan. 25), performing Bob Dylan songs in his own voice alongside James Blake, to promote A Complete Unknown.
