The Czech Philharmonic is one of Europe's oldest orchestras, founded in Prague in 1896. It has a deep-rooted connection to composers such as Dvorák and Smetana, and has long been a central voice in Czech musical life. Semyon Bychkov has served as its chief conductor since 2018.
