Tracie Thoms (born 1975, Baltimore) is an Emmy-nominated American actress and singer, trained at Howard University and the Juilliard School. She broke through as Joanne Jefferson in the 2005 film adaptation of Rent and as Det. Kat Miller across six seasons of CBS's Cold Case. Since 2018 she has played Karen Wilson in the first-responders drama 9-1-1, and in 2016 she appeared on Broadway in the revival of Falsettos.
ABC renewed 9-1-1 for a tenth season, extending Thoms's run as Karen Wilson.
Thoms reprised her role as Lily in The Devil Wears Prada 2, released in 2026.
9-1-1 Season 9 premiered on ABC on October 9, 2025, with Thoms returning as Karen Wilson.
Thoms announced on Instagram in July 2025 that she would return as Lily in The Devil Wears Prada 2, filming alongside Anne Hathaway.
