U.D.O. is a German heavy metal band founded in Solingen in 1987 by vocalist Udo Dirkschneider after he left Accept. With 19 studio albums to their name and a 20th in the works, the band has stayed true to a riff-driven, no-frills metal sound across nearly four decades - making them one of the most consistent acts in European heavy metal.
U.D.O. announced the 'Triple Anniversary Tour 2027', a major European run celebrating Udo Dirkschneider's 75th birthday, 40 years of U.D.O., and the band's upcoming 20th studio album via Reigning Phoenix Music.
Lead guitarist Andrey Smirnov parted ways with U.D.O. and Dirkschneider, with the split described as amicable and mutual.
Udo Dirkschneider confirmed that a new U.D.O. album has been completed and is set for release in early 2027, with former Accept bassist Peter Baltes heavily involved in the songwriting.
Under the Dirkschneider banner, the band toured Europe performing Accept's 1983 album 'Balls to the Wall' in full for its 40th anniversary, with dates in Finland, Norway and Sweden.
U.D.O. released their 19th studio album 'Touchdown' via Atomic Fire Records, featuring former Accept bassist Peter Baltes in his first full studio appearance with the band.
