About

Worm is a Florida-based extreme metal band founded in Miami in 2012 by the pseudonymous Phantom Slaughter, originally as a solo black metal project. The band shifted toward death/doom and funeral doom on the albums Gloomlord (2020) and Foreverglade (2021), the latter earning wide underground acclaim. Guitarist Wroth Septentrion (Phil Tougas) joined in 2021, and the duo signed to Century Media Records ahead of their fourth full-length, Necropalace (February 2026), which leans into symphonic black metal and features a guest solo by ex-Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman.
