Lights in Alingsås 2026 — Gothenburg

On 2 October, Alingsås Energi opens the 27th edition of Lights in Alingsås with the theme "Stories of Love" - love in all its forms, from the great epic love in books to love for family, friends and pets.

Lights in Alingsås is an event where light designers from around the world shape urban environments together with international light design students in a week-long workshop. The workshop concludes with an opening ceremony, after which the installations glow throughout October with concerts, evening-open cafes, running events and shopping evenings. The event attracts 70,000-90,000 visitors per year.

This year's route is a roughly 3.5 km walk from Åmanska Park and the city centre down to Nolhaga Park via Lugnet, with a return route via Sävevägen and Södra Ringgatan. Along the route there are also locally created or rented highlights on this year's love theme.

Viewing the installations on your own is free - they glow from dusk to dawn, 2 October to 1 November, with dimmed "night mode" or completely switched off between 00.00 and 05.00. A free audio guide is available in the Lights in Alingsås app (AppStore and Google Play).

Guided tours can be booked via Billetto.se and start at Åmanska Park, take approximately 2 hours and provide in-depth information about the work behind each installation. Mondays and Tuesdays offer 50 percent discount throughout the period. Ticket sales begin 1 September.
