Body. Ideal, Gaze, Freedom

In "Body. Ideal, Gaze, Freedom", works and artists from different eras meet to explore and challenge historical and contemporary ideals, the role of the model, and the body's potential for expression and creativity. The rich presentation encompasses painting, sculpture, drawing and printmaking, as well as photography and video art.

Most of the hundreds of works on display are part of the museum's collection, including pieces by Hanna Pauli, Francis Bacon and Charlotte Gyllenhammar.

The exhibition is complemented by borrowed works from, among others, Nick Cave, Ana Mendieta and Hannah Wilke from other institutions, as well as works by participating contemporary artists such as Sally von Rosen and Ruby Okoro.
