Hooja was founded in 2021 and achieved breakthrough success the following year with viral hits like Donkey Kong and Banan, melon, kiwi & citron. In just a few years, they have established themselves as one of the country's most-played live acts, known for their humorous northern style and distinctive masks - and a total of over 500 million streams on Spotify.

Their success has been recognized across the music industry. Hooja won Artist of the Year at P3 Guld in 2023 and four Rockbjörn awards that same year: Group of the Year, Breakthrough of the Year, Fans of the Year, and Song of the Year. The duo has also received Grammy nominations in the categories New Artist of the Year and Artist of the Year, and been awarded the Musikförleggarnas prize for Breakthrough of the Year.
