In 1982 they were named Jazz of the Year in Sweden. Ten years later they won a Grammis award. Since then and throughout their career, they have moved between communal singing and world music, burning improvisation and much else - always with a distinctive voice of their own.
The lineup of trumpet, three saxophones and rhythm section provides both power and elasticity. They have sometimes been compared to Charles Mingus ensembles: music where each musician has room to swing, but always within the collective.
Participants: Stefan Forssén (piano), Peter Janson (bass), Göran Kroon (drums), Mikael Godée (soprano saxophone), Martin Svanström (tenor saxophone), Staffan Svensson (trumpet) and Thomas Jäderlund (alto saxophone).
