Loïc Dequidt Quintet feat. J.Milder & S.Svensson — Playhouse, Gothenburg

The music is composed by French pianist Loïc Dequidt - "one of the more interesting pianists of his generation" according to Italian jazz legend Enrico Rava. His piano playing has been described as "magnificent, sensitive, energetic, multifaceted, personal, ecstatic, convincing, stubborn and unpredictable". The music is at times sparse and beautiful, drawing on influences from American and Scandinavian jazz, French impressionism and Indian classical music, while leaving ample room for freedom and improvisation.

Joakim Milder (saxophone) is counted among Sweden's most influential jazz musicians and has collaborated with Paul Bley, Tomasz Stanko and Bobo Stenson. Göteborg native Staffan Svensson (trumpet and flugelhorn) has worked with Andrew Hill, Anders Jormin, Marilyn Crispell and Jon Christensen. The rhythm section consists of Mattias Hjorth (double bass) and Peter Nilsson (drums).
