Glöd och elegans från barocken
Göteborgs Konserthus, Gothenburg
BAGS presents a programme that moves between Italian brilliance and German precision, featuring works by Durante, Vivaldi, and two generations of Bach. The artistic director is Terje Skomedal, violinist with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra.
Francesco Durante represents the Neapolitan tradition, while Vivaldi's double concerto in G major showcases the vitality of the Italian solo concerto. Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach's A major symphony exemplifies the "sensitive style" - a movement that emphasized emotional expression and in which he was a central figure.
The concert also includes excerpts from Johann Sebastian Bach's sonata no. 3: adagio and fugue in an arrangement by Terje Skomedal.
Note: the previously announced programme has been changed.
