Shabaka (UK)

On Tuesday 13 October, Shabaka Hutchings performs at Nefertiti - an artist known as the leader of Sons of Kemet and The Comet Is Coming, and long regarded as one of the most prominent saxophonists in contemporary British jazz.

In recent years he has set aside the saxophone and moved towards flutes and shakuhachi, developing a more meditative and ritualistic sound. That is the direction he is exploring now, and it is this version of Shabaka that we will hear at Nefertiti.
