The Patron's Return

Mecenatens återkomst is a dark comedy about quick cash, homemade bombs and evil, sudden death - a satirical take on private financing in its most brutal form, set to the sounds of skillingtryck, Tchaikovsky and spiritual classics. The production is divinely inspired by the parliamentary debate on the cultural budget on 4 December 2024.

It played to full houses at Teater Brunnsgatan Fyra in spring and autumn 2025, was praised by the press and sparked debate about cultural funding between Gertrud Larsson and Culture Minister Parisa Liljestrand on Expressen's culture pages.
