Høiby is perhaps best known as one of the founders of the influential Phronesis, the group that since 2005 has redefined expectations for the modern piano trio.

Now he presents Conversations of Hope, the trio's third album on Edition Records. With Naíma Acuña on drums and Xavi Torres on piano, the music moves swiftly and hits hard - shaped by clear melodic ideas, shifting time signatures, and a sharp sense of space and dynamics. Acuña's precise, driving playing and Torres' harmonically focused piano language fit tightly with Høiby's bass-led compositions.
