The Elder - An Odyssey by and with Alex Room Service

Alex Room Service presents what is described as the longest lecture about Kiss ever conducted - divided into two acts. In 2026, it has been 45 years since "(Music from) The Elder" was released, and that is the starting point for the evening.

The lecture traces the path to the album and its legacy using meeting minutes, press materials, and secrets written in the margins of internal memos - including strict guidelines on whether Eric Carr was allowed to talk about UFOs in interviews.

Alex Room Service on the album: "In every place, in every age, people have tried to understand this enigmatic album. When Kiss stepped out of all the boxes they had ever been in and created the work (Music From) The Elder, they simultaneously signed their own bankruptcy. Or at least almost. Because Kiss survived this debacle, they eventually reclaimed the throne as one of the world's greatest bands and spent many years trying to erase this career-killing misstep."
