Noughties - Fashion and Trends of the 2000s
Mölndals stadsmuseum, Gothenburg
Meet bloggers, reality TV and celebrity culture, minimalist Swedish fashion, trucker caps and luxury mixed with budget clothing - in an era when shopping and fast fashion had not yet sparked guilt.
The 2000s feel incredibly close to many of us, yet 26 years have already passed since the millennium shift and Y2K is now one of the era's nostalgia trends. The Noughties exhibition offers a compressed style retrospective of the years 2000-2009 and is shown in the smaller exhibition space at Mölndals stadsmuseum, which also produced it.
The main texts are written by freelance journalist Helena Skoog, focusing on fashion, design and culture - she serves as "editor-in-chief" of the museum's own fashion magazine in exhibition form.
Free entry.
