Raoul Wallenberg Day

On 27 August - Raoul's name day - we honour the memory of Raoul Wallenberg and his efforts during the Second World War. As a Swedish diplomat, he saved tens of thousands of Jews from the Holocaust by issuing protective passes and establishing what became known as Swedish houses.

Raoul Wallenberg Day is Sweden's national day for civil courage and humanity.
