River Biographies

River Biographies is a meditative headphone-based artwork for up to forty people, created by the artist duo Lundahl & Seitl (Christer Lundahl and Martina Seitl). The audience puts on headphones and follows simple movement instructions that together form a shared choreography - a recreation of water's movement from source to sea. Each person interprets the movements according to their own ability, and each performance is shaped by the place, the participants, and the waterways nearby.

The work moves in the borderland between choreography, sound art, and nature experience, posing questions about movement, time, and humanity as part of a larger cycle. The performance is conducted in Swedish and lasts 50 minutes.

Riksteatern in collaboration with Lundahl & Seitl. River Biographies was originally created in collaboration with Liljevalchs Konsthall and West Bund Museum together with Chronus Art Center, Shanghai (CN), and Riksteatern.
