The Awakening Performance Avväxten

For the community's upcoming jubilee celebration, members of similar associations have been invited - those who sympathize with the idea of always choosing the earth's wellbeing before humanity's. Are you one of them too?

Avväxten is based on poet David Väyrynen's forthcoming poetry collection of the same name: a single long sermon, delivered at the meeting that concluded the rural community Storberget/Isovaara/Stuorváris jubilee week. It is a strengthening speech for everyone to carry with them when doubt arises, or when harvests fail. The awakening performance is an attempt to reconstruct that meeting, aiming to spread the community's message: that if the earth is to continue bearing humanity, humanity must begin to place significantly less weight on its shoulders.
