The Awakening Performance Avväxten

Avväxten is based on poet David Väyrynen's forthcoming poetry collection - a single long sermon delivered at the meeting that concluded the jubilee week of the community Storberget/Isovaara/Stuorváris. The speech is meant to strengthen and sustain people through times of doubt or hardship, and carries the community's central message: if the earth is to continue bearing humanity, humanity must begin to place far less weight on its shoulders.

The Awakening Performance is an attempt to reconstruct that meeting. For the jubilee celebration, members from similar associations have been invited - those who sympathize with the idea of always choosing the earth's wellbeing before humanity's.
