The Awakening Performance Avväxten

Avväxten is based on poet David Väyrynen's forthcoming poetry collection of the same name - a long sermon delivered at the closing meeting of the jubilee week of the community Storberget/Isovaara/Stuorváris. The speech is intended to strengthen people during times of doubt or hardship, and carries the community's message: if the earth is to continue bearing humanity, humanity must begin to place significantly less weight on its shoulders.

The Awakening Performance is an attempt to reconstruct that meeting. For the jubilee celebration, members from similar associations have been invited - those who sympathize with the idea of always choosing the earth's wellbeing before humanity's.
