The performance portrays four of Sweden's most influential women - Selma Lagerlöf, Elin Wägner, Victoria Benedictsson and Ellen Key - and their struggle for women's right to vote, influence society and participate in public debate. They meet in each other's books, through political engagement and correspondence, keeping the conversation alive across time.

With direct address to the audience, warmth and humour, the performance tells their story.
