Ora Cogan + support Elaine Malone 6/9

On "Hard Hearted Woman", Ora Cogan blends haunting folk, psych rock and a darker shade of country. The album bears traces of cold baths, long swims in rivers, late-night conversations about art and politics, and drives through the landscape around Lillooet - and of someone who has looked into the abyss and chosen curiosity again and again.

The material was recorded with David Parry (Loving) at Dream Club studio in Victoria, British Columbia, in her own studio in Nanaimo, and remotely with Tom Deis. Featured are her band alongside guest musicians from both country and experimental music.

Support: Elaine Malone - psych rock artist and multi-instrumentalist who blends shoegaze, folk and experimental soundscapes. Her debut album Pyrrhic (Pizza Pizza Records, 2023) has received critical acclaim, and as a founder of the motorik group pôt-pot, she was involved in releasing Warsaw 480km (Felte Records) - nominated for the RTE Choice Music Award and selected by BBC Radio 6 as one of the year's best albums.
