InTension
InTension presents Rebecca Livaniou in a dance solo that moves in multiple directions simultaneously, without revealing its logic in advance. Inspired by hip-hop battle culture - where something is always at stake - she constructs a physical monologue where each movement carries its own energy. Just beneath the surface lies an inner movement, where contradictions and subtle shifts make themselves felt, and moods gradually shift toward a more ambiguous state. It is not about defeating someone else, but about overcoming one's own doubts and claiming space - before others and before oneself.
Rebecca Livaniou has danced in works by Cullberg and choreographer Lisa Janbell. InTension is her first staged solo production, created in close collaboration with music producer Kevin Wedin/12Twelve, costume designer Amanda Wisselgren, and lighting designer Thabiso Kubheka Persson.
