Saltstänk & Smuggelsprit Tour
Gävle Konserthus - Gevaliasalen, Gävle
On the Halland coast stands the once-grand Badhotell Klitterviken. By the late 1920s, the hotel has clearly seen better days - something the pompous owner Estrid (Helena Aspeflo) stubbornly refuses to acknowledge. She drives her exhausted husband Hubert (Håkan Klamas) to maintain the facade of an exclusive beach hotel, despite what the crumbling walls reveal.
Behind Estrid's back, Hubert has struck a deal with smuggling kingpin Konrad Stålberg (Daniel Träff) - it is Prohibition, and German spirits flow across the Kattegat. A large shipment of contraband liquor has been delivered to the hotel overnight and must be moved on. The problem is that on the same day, Estrid has arranged a funeral service for the wealthy widow Stråhle (Ewa Roos), whose late husband chaired the Halland temperance committee - and the widow has promised to donate a substantial sum to the hotel, provided the ceremony proceeds calmly and with dignity.
To make matters worse, the couple's daughter Alfrida (Jeanette Capocci) arrives, searching for a suspected unfaithful lover while carefully hiding the fact that she has squandered her parents' money in Gothenburg's jazz clubs and dance halls. Pastor Livhed (Mikael Riesebeck), who is to conduct the memorial service, suffers from narcolepsy. Postman Dag-Otto Flink (Jojje Jönsson) soon cannot tell if he is a postman, smuggler, waiter, or priest. The hotel's new guests Rut (Annika Andersson) and Ragnar (Mikael Riesebeck) are unwillingly drawn into the chaos.
With contraband spirits in the cellar, a body gone astray, threatening spirits police, and a coffin that never seems to contain what it should, the circus soon reaches full pandemonium. Vallarnagänget is on a major Swedish tour with this salty beach comedy. Performance length: approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes including intermission. Organizer: 2Entertain AB.
