En dag kommer alla alltid att
A writer speaks while Israel's war in Gaza continues - to survive, to remember the dead. He had not intended to say anything, but does so anyway, because it is worse not to try. He moves between the old world with his father in Egypt and the new world in the USA where his daughter is growing up. The father is actually dead and the daughter actually too young, but they tell the story together. It is about parents and children, displacement and war - about hope that dies, for an entire generation.
The production is based on Omar El Akkad's multi-award-winning book One Day, Everyone Will Always Have Been Against This, written while bombs fell on Gaza. El Akkad is an Egyptian-Canadian-American journalist and author.
Dramatization by Sara Stridsberg. Directed by Dritëro Kasapi, who works as theatre director at Riksteatern and has received recognition for productions such as Hedwig and the Angry Inch at Malmö Opera, Hamlet at Svenska Teatern in Helsinki, and Nina - a story about me and Nina Simone at Riksteatern.
Cast to be announced. Original title: One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This, 2025.
