Nothing compares to first love in youth - but can that spark be rekindled?

It is summer and teenagers Annika and Pär meet. With shy glances and their friends' help, they slowly find their way to each other, while an adult world marked by broken dreams and painful marriages moves around them.

When the Irish company Dead Centre brings Roy Andersson's iconic film to Stora scenen, two members of the audience play the infatuated couple - the remaining roles are performed by the Dramaten ensemble. Participation is entirely voluntary.

Dead Centre has previously involved audiences in their productions in various ways. Their production Tjechov's First Play guest-performed at Dramaten in 2022, and Ilya Kaminsky's Deaf Republic premiered at the Royal Court Theatre in London in 2025.
