One of today's most talked-about love stories comes to Intiman in the autumn as a theatre production with live music on stage. Brokeback Mountain - known from Annie Proulx's award-winning novella and the Oscar-winning film - receives its Swedish premiere on 19 November 2026 and runs at Intiman through autumn and winter.

Malte Gårdinger plays Ennis Del Mar (known from Young Royals and Vaka) and Samuel Astor plays Jack Twist (Young Royals, Åremorden and Arv at Dramaten). The story is set in Wyoming in 1963, where two young men meet during seasonal work on the barren Brokeback Mountain - a friendship that grows into a love they barely dare acknowledge, but which forever changes their lives.

Jill Johnson performs on stage with her band, delivering live music with a country sound. The script has been translated and adapted for the Swedish stage by William Spetz, and the production is directed by Sara Giese. The stage version previously played to sold-out houses on London's West End.
