In War and Love

The production weaves together two ancient dramas: Aristophanes' comedy Lysistrata, in which Athenian women go on strike - refusing sex and love - to stop the war, and Euripides' tragedy The Trojan Women, set in Troy after the Greek victory when the spoils of war are being divided. Director Anna Pettersson balances comedy against tragedy to portray the nature of war - and above all how it affects women. The production also includes choral singing.
