Lotte Laserstein Berlin Räpplinge

A musical theatre performance about the artist Lotte Laserstein.

Starting from factual ground, the text moves freely through Lotte's thoughts, feelings and emotional landscape - exploring themes of displacement, identity and artistic creation. We meet her upon her arrival in Sweden in 1937, after she has left Berlin, where Jews are stripped of their rights and she can no longer practise her profession. Her mother and sister remain in Germany, and Lotte fights to bring them to safety in Sweden.

In her new life, she questions who she can become and be in Sweden, looks back on her good years as an artist in Berlin, and wonders what the future holds - as a person and as an artist.
