On 22 November 2026, Emil Gittansson Jensen performs at Palladium Malmö with the show "Vi måste hålla kontakten" - about friendship, life and everything in between. Music, poetry and personal stories blend laughter with reflection.
The performance explores friendship as a phenomenon - "this so undervalued relationship, vital for us as human beings and the foundation of all solidarity", as Emil describes it. The thread runs from historical perspective to future speculation and touches on loneliness and our era's extreme individualism. Using an old overhead projector, music and deeply personal stories - including the loss of his best friend and both parents - he examines what a true friend really is and why friendship holds such low status in both art and society. The show is directed by Siri Bengtén, and on stage is Emil's Friendship Band: Anna Dager (cello), Hanna Ekström (violin) and Staffan Findin (trombone).
Emil Gittansson Jensen has released eight albums and several books, regularly appears on Swedish Radio as an essayist in Godmorgon världen and Tankar för dagen, and is a multiple award-winning Winter and Summer Talker. He has received the Nils Ferlin Prize, the Evert Taube Prize, the Karl Gerhard Prize and was nominated for the Martin Luther King Prize for civic courage, and recently also received ABF's Cultural Prize.
Bars in Marmorfoajé and Guldfoajé open from 17.00. The hall opens at 17.40, the performance begins at 18.00 and lasts two hours with an intermission.
