The Art of Slowing Down Time — Sjöfartsmuseet Akvariet, Gothenburg

Film screening, music and stories with solo sailor Emma Ringqvist.

Solo sailor and musician Emma Ringqvist spent 9 months alone aboard her sailboat Caprice, just under 10 metres long. She sailed across the Atlantic to Brazil's coast, then to Tristan da Cunha - the world's most remote inhabited island - and finally non-stop without a working engine from the South Atlantic across the equator to Scotland, a journey lasting 67 days. She became the Swedish woman who has spent the longest continuous time alone at sea.

The film The Art of Slowing Down Time portrays both the outer and inner journey, and it is the inner voyage that Ringqvist herself finds most compelling. The film was produced by documentary filmmaker Mattias Olsson for Campfire Stories.
