Learn about the Swedish East India Company's trade with China and what it was like to sail in the 1700s!
The Swedish East India Company handled Swedish trade with China from 1731 to 1813 and carried out a total of 132 expeditions there. The programme tells the story of the ships, sailors and supercargoes, of cargo, hardships and storms - and of the East Indiaman Göteborg's wreck in 1745. From that wreck, the Maritime Museum holds 11 tons of porcelain.
The programme is included in the admission ticket but places are limited. Arrive at least 10 minutes before the start - otherwise your place may be reserved if there is a queue. Unbooked places are released until the programme begins.
