Ö(l)rullet VIII: Ölrullet går till sjöss - andra gången gillt — Gothenburg

On Sunday, 23 August, we set sail into the archipelago to visit Barlind Beer and Öarnas Ölagille. Each stop lasts around an hour and features three carefully selected beers - in cyclist-friendly quantities - plus fascinating stories.

At each stop you receive a pin, plus one for the route itself. A canvas bag with a map of Göteborg, where you can place the pins, is available for purchase. If you have participated five times before, you have earned the Ölrullet's Ölborgarmärke!

Between the two stops, you take the ferry from Björkö to Öckerö-Hönö - standard Västtrafic fares apply, which you pay yourself. The day concludes at Franses Skärgårdspub, where burgers are offered at cost price (the route price is not affected). Tables are reserved in advance and food is pre-ordered, and just as with the route itself, registration for the pub visit is binding - separate registration, see the link in the Facebook event where you will also find more information and registration for the route.

Today's cycling is around eleven kilometres, plus another seven for those who join us at Franses. The route leaders are Nan Albertson (BeerLab) and Patrik Andersson (sistaonsdagenimånadenølen) - they speak Swedish and English if needed, and can say "öl", "skål" and "tack" in several other languages.

Gather at 13.40 at Lilla Varholmen ferry terminal. Bring your own bike - there are no Styr & Ställ bikes available on site. The ferry to Björkö departs at 14.10 sharp, arrive on time. Ölrullet is also exploring the possibility of arranging bike transport to and from the ferry terminal from central Göteborg (50 kronor one way) if there is interest.

NOTE! The ferry to/from Lilla Varholmen is free. The ferry between Björkö and Öckerö-Hönö costs the standard Västtrafic fare, and you pay for the visit to Franses yourself.
