Phantom of the Everyday — Louis De Geer, Norrköping

A living room - an everyday room - sits at the center of the stage. The doors can open at any moment and let in people with their quirks, habits, and manners. Everyday scenes alternate with festive scenes, and everyone strives toward the same goal: to appear normal. It works, more or less.

The performance draws from Luis Buñuel's film "The Phantom of Liberty", but shifts its gaze from freedom to the everyday. What happens to us when we constantly measure ourselves against others' expectations - when normality becomes a project? Finnish playwright and director Saara Turunen assembles a melodic stage collage where absurdity and melancholy live side by side, with humor, a touch of sorrow, and a sympathetic eye for life's oddities.

The performance is in Finnish with Finnish and Swedish subtitles. Duration: 1 hour 40 minutes.
