The Field - Guest Performance from Tokyo
House of Possibilitas, Gothenburg
The Field is a Tokyo-based duo consisting of Gideon Juckes (tuba) and Asaka Igarashi (cello and vocals). The music moves between folk music, contemporary composition, tradition and improvisation - built from acoustic instruments, field recordings and traditional melodies. Storytelling, silence and the resonance of space are as important as the notes themselves.
In spring 2026, the debut album First Songs was released alongside a concert film. Following its premiere in Tokyo, the duo embarks on their first international tour with stops in Scotland and Sweden. The Field grows out of Gideon Juckes' multi-year artistic work (2020-2025), previously known as MUSIC for ISOLATION - recordings that were selected as one of the year's ten best albums by Far Side Radio (Resonance FM, London), nominated for the 4barsrest Awards and featured in Bandcamp New & Notable.
The concert is part of Hisingen Live, a collaboration between House of Possibilitas and Gothenburg Studios Development. On 27 September, UMUI - Guardians of Traditions, a guest performance from Okinawa/Japan, will also be shown - if you have purchased a ticket to that event, you can book a free ticket to this concert at House of Possibilitas.
Supported by the City of Gothenburg and the Västra Götaland Region.
