The Dream of the Folk Park!

Femtinge Teater takes audiences on a park tour from north to south - from a tough girl in a jacket in Kiruna to the media frenzy that erupted in Finspång when a world star came to visit. Along the way, visitors share their own park memories: love found on the dance floor, the idols they adored, the dreams, expectations, and disappointments.

The Swedish folk park movement is presented as the unique phenomenon it was - a place where local talents, Swedish artistic elite, and international stars performed on the same simple stage before audiences who were sometimes overwhelmed, sometimes completely bewildered. The music is a selection of schlager, pop, and rock and roll from the era when orchestras and artists found a new sound, featuring names like Lill-Babs, Owe Thörnqvist, Rock Olga, Povel Ramel, Siw Malmkvist, Ola and the Janglers, and Jerry Williams.

The production is written and directed by Linda Elaine Byman and Hans-Åke Andersson, who also perform on stage.
