The Last Message — Tornrummet, Stockholm

There is a park. An ice cream bar. You can go to the cinema, or to the stadium where four friends usually meet - without planning anything in advance, they just go there. Life goes on. But in the midst of the ordinary, it is said that war is coming.

It is real.

The four friends face the new violent reality in different ways. One flees, another begins making Molotov cocktails. But they stay in touch - from barricades and basements, from neighbouring countries and temporary homes. As long as someone answers.

The Last Message is a portrayal of everyday life before and during war - a story of doubt and brutal awakening. The play was written specifically for Dramaten by Ukrainian dramatist Nina Zachozjenko and is based on her work "I Am OK", which was created immediately after the massacre in Bucha and was previously performed at Dramaten as a staged reading as part of Dramaten.Doc. The director is Dmitri Plax, artistic director of Dramaten.Doc.
