Family Festival at Klippans Ångbåtsbrygga
gratis
The Veteran Boat Association KBBF and Maritimt i Väst are hosting another maritime-themed festival day at Klippans Ångbåtsbrygga on 29 August, following the success of last year's Ångbåtsbrygga Day.
The programme features guided tours led by KBBF's passionate volunteers, open-ship visits where guests can board and learn about the historic vessels, live music, a maritime-themed point walk (with separate routes for adults and children) with prizes, traditional rope-making demonstrations with the Rope-Making Museum, and the firing up of the combustion engine on the fishing boat Elin. The Ångbåts Café is open 11.00-21.00, and weather permitting, grilling takes place on the dock.
Klippans Ångbåtsbrygga is located at Klippan in the Majorna district, near the Älvsborgsbron bridge. The area has roots dating back to the 14th century and was connected to the Swedish East India Company in the 18th century. Since the early 1980s, KBBF has worked to preserve the historic harbour environment in the Klippan Cultural Reserve.
