Benjamin Christensen's silent film masterpiece HÄXAN from 1922 receives a restored outdoor screening at Borgargården in Stockholm City Hall on September 6 - with live music and sound effects conducted by Matti Bye.

The event is organized by the Swedish Film Institute and the City of Stockholm. The film features witches, sacrificed infants, and a devil portrayed by the director himself.

Stockholm City Hall, designed by Ragnar Östberg and inaugurated in 1923, is one of Sweden's most recognizable buildings. Its red-brick towers rise above Riddarfjärden, and inside are the Blue Hall and Golden Hall - best known as the venue for the annual Nobel Prize banquet.
