The Slates (UK) + Staf

The Slates from the UK launched their tour at Viva Sounds - a show people talked about for weeks afterwards. The tour continues through Debaser (Wednesday), Live at Heart (Thursday) and RIP in Porsgrunn (Saturday) before the band returns to Hängmattan on Friday, 4 September.

Back in the UK, The Slates have quickly become one of the most talked-about young guitar bands. Their latest single Watch It Burn earned immediate support from Radio X and Apple Music, followed by a sold-out tour and performances at Isle of Wight, Tramlines and Y Not. The band is backed by the label This Feeling, which has long had a knack for spotting new British guitar music early - as Noel Gallagher puts it: "You can bet your arse you'll see it at This Feeling first."

Support comes from Staf, who since their formation have released two albums, several EPs and singles, and played over 60 shows across Sweden. The band sings in Swedish and draws inspiration from Fontaines D.C., Kent and The Cure.
