In War and Love

The production weaves together two ancient dramas: Aristophanes' Lysistrata, in which Athenian women go on strike with sex and love to stop the war, and Euripides' The Trojan Women, set in Troy after the Greek victory when the spoils of war are to be divided. Director Anna Pettersson balances the comedy of the first play against the tragedy of the second, focusing on the nature of war and its impact on women. The production also includes choral singing.
