Beredskapsveckan at Aeroseum 2026 — Aeroseum, Gothenburg
Description was written before the event

Beredskapsveckan at Aeroseum - part of Sweden's total defence

During the national Beredskapsveckan (Preparedness Week) 21-27 September, Aeroseum opens its former Cold War military underground facility for a week focused on crisis preparedness and total defence. How do we prepare for a crisis? How does Sweden's total defence system work, and what can you do yourself?

Throughout the week, Aeroseum offers activities for visitors: the preparedness exhibition Rädd eller beredd, guided tours, and various aspects of Aeroseum's operations from a preparedness perspective. New this year is Beredskapsslingan - Klarar du sju dagar? (Preparedness Challenge - Can You Survive Seven Days?), inspired by the Civil Contingencies Agency's exercise Sju dagar, where you face situations that can arise when electricity, water, and communications fail. Aeroseum is open Tuesday-Sunday throughout the week.

The Preparedness Forum is held on Thursday 24 September from 15:30 to 20:00. The Civil Contingencies Agency (MCF), Chalmers University of Technology, and the Röhsska Museum participate with short lectures, and the programme includes a tour of Aeroseum's preparedness centre. The forum is open to the public with free admission, but advance registration is required at info@aeroseum.se.

During Preparedness Weekend 26-27 September, from 11:00 to 16:00, there is a Preparedness Market where government agencies, volunteer organisations, and other community actors are present - including Göteborg och Bohusläns Bilkår, the Swedish Maritime Administration/JRCC, and Gothenburg Port (more to be announced). Visitors can also take the preparedness challenge, visit the Rädd eller beredd exhibition, and ride in an armoured personnel carrier for a small fee. Regular admission applies during the weekend.
