Den livsfarliga — ADAS Teater, Gothenburg

What does it cost to speak when your surroundings have taught you that your voice is a threat? This is the question that drives "Den livsfarliga" - a newly written solo performance by and starring Fia Adler Sandblad.

The performance follows a girl whose world is controlled by adults who should protect her but instead pose the danger. When she defends herself and her brother, she finds her voice, but the price proves to be high. As an adult, she seeks out the child she once was - and still carries within her.

The story unfolds through body, voice, and newly composed music, exploring violence, survival, and the struggle for recognition as a human being. The work is inspired by Dario Fo's absurdist mystery play "Gycklarens födelse", and the title refers to the clown who puts himself and others at risk by speaking what others try to hide. The performance is the latest chapter in Fia Adler Sandblad's long-term scenic investigation of abandonment and humanity's capacity to survive.
