An Evening with the Swedish Lute

Lutenist Anders Ericson brings an evening of Swedish lute music to Musik- och teaterbiblioteket in Stockholm on Wednesday, 16 September 2026. Alongside violinist Rebecka Karlsson, he performs forgotten music for lute from the 18th century - a repertoire that has not been heard for over 200 years. This is one of two Swedish dates on Ericson's tour. During the evening, researcher Kenneth Sparr will also deliver a lecture on the history and significance of the Swedish lute. Musik- och teaterbiblioteket is a specialized library collection belonging to the National Library of Sweden, focusing on music, theatre and dance, and holds scores, recordings and archival materials.
