Concert: Anna Kroeker & Anders Åkered invite...

Anna Kroeker and Anders Åkered invite Maria Lindal and Kevin Kirs Verstege to a string quartet concert blending baroque music, Nordic folk music, and string quartet gems - with surprising twists.

The concept centres on exploring and experimenting with the concert format: Kroeker and Åkered invite musicians they enjoy playing with, rehearse together for two days, and then perform. The playfulness of the music and its composition are at the heart of the event. This is the premiere performance.

Coffee and refreshments can be pre-ordered and are served from 18.30 to 19.00 in the museum reception. Refreshments cannot be brought into the studio or art hall, and no additional refreshments are sold on site.

Cancellation must be made at least 7 days before the event. Ticket fees are not refunded.

About the musicians

Maria Lindal studied violin at the Stockholm University of Music and later continued with modern and baroque violin in London. She has been concertmaster at Drottningholm Palace Theatre since 1994 and served as the theatre's musical director from 2014 to 2021. In 1998, she founded the orchestra Rebaroque, which quickly established itself in Sweden and internationally. In 2008, she was awarded Expressens cultural prize Spelmannen.

Kevin Kirs Verstege began as a piano student in Stockholm but switched to cello. He studied at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow, performed as a soloist in Elgar's cello concertos, and played regularly with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. He then studied in Amsterdam, participating in numerous projects with contemporary composers in the Nieuw Ensemble - Amsterdam. Currently, he works as a substitute in several Swedish orchestras and as an active chamber musician.

Anders Åkered is a versatile musician with violin as his main instrument, born and raised in southern
