Concert: Folk Unit
195 kr · ≈ $20
Folk Unit is a duo consisting of Johannes Jacobsson and Martin Norberg, working at the intersection of Swedish folk music, jazz, R'n'B and improvisation. Using loops, acoustic instruments and electronic elements woven together in real time, they create a cinematic and rhythmic sound.
Johannes Jacobsson is a Grammy-nominated concert violinist and riksspelman, known from The Nordic Baroque Band and the duo Jean and Jo with Jeanette Eriksson. He has been active for 15 years in Sweden and Europe and has also focused on lesser-known folk music from eastern Jämtland as well as the legacy of Scandinavian virtuoso Sven Åkesson. Martin Norberg is a saxophonist and percussionist - as a soprano saxophonist he explores the boundaries of sound with poetic precision, and his percussion provides rhythmic grounding for the music. He is a founding member of the folk music group Lyy and a permanent member of the Malmö band Apalonia.
